Coaching Expectations and Training for House League Coaches
The Club will offer a three-hour training session geared especially to House League, with a focus on how to run a practice and how to teach the basic skills of soccer to young players. This training program will give adult and student volunteers the basic capabilities they will run to coach house league soccer, even if they are not fully experienced with the game.
The same training session will be run at three different times, so volunteers will have a choice of which session best fits their schedule. It is highly recommended that all adult volunteers take the training course. Taking the training course is mandatory for students wishing to collect Community Hours for this volunteer activity.
Each of the training sessions will include about 45 minutes of classroom discussion, and then a couple of hours of training in gym, where coaches will be participants. Wear appropriate shoes.
